No school in Fort Plain May 24 and 25 because of
unused emergency days
There will be no school in Fort Plain on
Thursday, May 24 and Friday, May 25, because the district did not
use two emergency days this year. This change extends the Memorial
Day holiday weekend for all Fort Plain students by two days.
Each year, school officials build more
instructional days in to the school calendar than the minimum
required by the state. This helps ensure optimal student learning
while taking into consideration the potential for closures due to
inclement weather. Up to four cancellations were scheduled this
year, but school was only closed twice.
The district office will still be open May
24-25 and classes will resume on Tuesday, May 29.
