Fort Plain teachers wore blue on Monday to
recognize ‘Day of Action’
Educators in Fort Plain
around the state wore blue on Monday to support fair funding for
public schools and colleges and other education-related causes.
In a letter from NYSUT to state education
commissioner John King, teachers asked for:
• A three-year moratorium on high-stakes
consequences linked to state standardized tests;
• Emphasis on teaching and learning, not testing and consequences;
• To listen to the real education stakeholders: parents, educators,
students and community members
Fort Plain teachers wore blue and took a photo
in each building.
