Fort Plain Pacers walking program
The Pacers program began in 2007 as a year-round
way for Fort Plain area people to improve their health by
incorporating walking into their daily lives. During the school
year, the Pacers walk from 5:30 to 7 a.m. and 4-7 p.m. in the
hallways of Harry Hoag Elementary School. In warm weather the Pacers
use the Canalway trail.
The Pacers program began its fall session on Nov.
16 with about 30 participants. MVP Health educator Kristine Lindahl
made a presentation and conducted a stretching routine. She will
come to the Pacers program about once a month to walk and conduct
special events. MVP Healthcare is a co-sponsor of the Pacers program
this year.
Anyone
interested in joining the Pacers should come to the school anytime
the Pacers are walking. - For more information, contact Superintendent of Schools Douglas
Burton at (518) 993-4000, or Sue Manclow, Pacers Kiosk Staff Member
(518) 993-2800.
