Clubs  and Organizations

Library Club

Open to all interested students in grades 9-12, The Library Club strongly encourages reading. Whole new worlds are opened through reading, and we hope we can spread this message to all students. The club meets in the media center on the third Wednesday of each month during lunch. We also encourage students to participate in Battle of the Books.
This year's fund-raiser includes a morning cafe, in which we will sell hot beverages and baked goods to students and staff. The money we make from this fund-raiser will go toward library Club activities. The club also hosts a Scholastic Book Fair with the goal of increasing the library's collection of paperback books. High School Librarian Mary VanPatten is club advisor.

OK2XL

Fort Plain Central School District recognizes that gifted and talented students have unique needs not always met by the regular school curriculum or by the ordinary resources of the community. Our programs are designed to identify such students and their needs to provide individual and group programs to meet those needs.
Gifted and talented students shall be defined as those pupils who show evidence of high performance capability and exceptional potential in areas such as general intellectual ability, special academic aptitude, and outstanding ability in visual and performing arts. A gifted and talented committee that is open to all faculty members on a volunteer basis has final approval of those students asked to join OK2XL activities. A general guide will be to provide the most in programs for the most students.

Sports Booster Club

The Fort Plain Sports Booster Club and our athletes raise money throughout the year to help all sports at all levels. Those funds are also used to sponsor athletic and academic scholarships and several athletic functions during the year. Sponsored events include receptions for fall, winter and spring sports, as well as tournaments for volleyball, girls’ and boys’ soccer, the annual cross country invitational, boys’ and girls’ basketball, track sectionals, and softball. We also sponsor a toy tractor show concession, a donkey basketball game and the annual athletic banquet where athletes and teams are honored. We encourage parents and community residents to become involved. Please feel free to contact any one of our officers for more information. Please help us promote the “TOPPER PRIDE SPIRIT!”
