Bus Driver – Repair Person
Location: Fort Plain Central School District
Salary: $22.79/hour
This is a full time position (8 hours/12 months) with full benefits, per contract.
Duties (Illustrative Only):
- Responsibility for driving a school bus, minivan or other school vehicle on an assigned route, as a back-up driver and on special trips.
- Responsibility for the safe transfer of school children and maintaining discipline on the bus.
- Responsibility for the maintenance and performance of skilled automotive repair tasks. The work is performed under general supervision.
- Also responsible for related paperwork, such as timesheets, mileage records, defect sheets, accident forms, etc.
Full Performance Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:
- Thorough knowledge of standard automotive repair methods and of the terminology and tools of the trade.
- Demonstrated ability to make difficult repairs to heavy automotive and other mechanical equipment.
- Familiarity with welding techniques.
- Ability to work from plans and specifications and to follow oral instructions.
- Good motor and hand and eye coordination; manual dexterity; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of experience in the operation of automotive equipment.
Special Requirement:
- Possession of Commercial Driver’s License with an “S” endorsement at the time of appointment.
- Drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
Appointment is subject to fingerprint clearance.
