Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is a curriculum filled with lessons that empower young ladies. They gain important life skills such as teamwork and self-worth, while learning they can change the world with their actions. All of this is accomplished while working on fitness, with the ultimate goal of completing a celebratory 5K race. The team creates posters, does a community project, obtains keepsakes and ultimately creates a group of girls who care about each other and a common goal.
Girls on the Run:
- Helps build physical fitness levels through bodyweight exercises and warmups.
- Builds endurance and cardiovascular health with various running/jogging/walking activities.
- Builds teamwork and interpersonal skills with like-aged peers.
- Builds a sense of self-worth and value.
- Helps girls connect to community through volunteerism.
