The following directions are for the District Office/Harry Hoag Elementary School. Fort Plain High School is approximately 1/2 mile south (two blocks) south via Clyde Street.

From North

Rt. 5 North of Erie Canal/Mohawk River – Nelliston

  • Turn south at the traffic light, cross the bridge, continue straight at the traffic light by Stewart’s.
  • Turn right at the next stop sign. (Canal St.)
  • Turn left onto Prospect Street (fourth left)
  • Turn left onto West Street (second left)
  • Turn right onto Clyde St. (first right)
  • Go up the hill about .2 miles – you will see the entrance to Fort Plain Junior/Senior High School on left.
  • Harry Hoag Elementary School is at the end of the street, less than a quarter mile from the high school entrance.

From East

I-90 (Thruway) Exit 29 – Canajoharie

  • Make right turn onto Route 5S west.
  • Go about 3 miles to Fort Plain.
  • When you enter Fort Plain, take a left onto Main Street at traffic light.
  • Take your first right onto Rt. 5S (Canal St.)
  • Travel about a quarter mile and take a left onto Prospect St. (6th left)
  • Turn left onto West Street (second left)
  • Turn right onto Clyde St. (first right)
  • Go up the hill about .2 miles – you will see the entrance to Fort Plain Junior/Senior High School on left.
  • Harry Hoag Elementary School is at the end of the street, less than a quarter mile from the high school entrance.

From West

Route 5S

  • Turn right onto Prospect Street (third right on entering village)
  • Turn left onto West Street (second left)
  • Turn right onto Clyde St. (first right)
  • Go up the hill about .2 miles – you will see the entrance to Fort Plain Junior/Senior High School on your left.
